He laced his shoes, then took a puff,
A runner’s stride, so full of cheer,
Forgot he’s running, life gets tough.
Through parks he dashed, or so he thought—
His mind soared high, in clouds so clear,
He laced his shoes, then took a puff.
With every step, a thought was caught,
“Wait, did I leave the stove on, dear?”
Forgot he’s running, life gets tough.
A squirrel yelled, “You missed your spot!”
“Why is my heart racing? What’s this fear?”
He laced his shoes, then took a puff.
He thought of snacks—popcorn or tots?
Wheels turned too slowly in his rear,
Forgot he’s running, life gets tough.
With laughter loud, he stopped and sought,
“Just chill, my friend! It's not so clear!”
He laced his shoes, then took a puff,
Yet still forgot he’s running, life gets tough.
