The Eternal Wait for the High Slice

Oh pizza man, it’s been a blissful year,
Each minute stretches like a rubber band,
My belly’s growl is loud, I’m feeling sheer.

My mates and I, in good cheer we appear,
We’ve ordered deep dish with extra handstand,
Oh pizza man, it’s been a blissful year.

The clock ticks slow, I nibble on a sphere,
The chips an ocean, salty grains of sand,
My belly’s growl is loud, I’m feeling sheer.

“Attention, pizza!” I shout, loud and clear,
“Bring forth the pie, for I cannot withstand!”
Oh pizza man, it’s been a blissful year.

Did I just see the moon—a flying deer?
Each second’s longer than a marching band,
My belly’s growl is loud, I’m feeling sheer.

At last! A knock, a swift end to my fear,
I leap like a ninja, with sauce in hand—
Oh pizza man, it’s been a blissful year,
My belly’s growl is loud, I’m feeling sheer.
