High on Rhyme: The Epic Stoner Ballad

In a circle of buddies, with laughter and glee,
They gathered one evening, to let their thoughts free.
With bud rolling thick, and the smoke in the air,
They pledged to compose, while they just didn’t care.

“Let’s write a fine poem!" said Dave with a grin,
“About pizza and unicorns, let’s truly begin!”
“Unicorns don’t eat pizza!” screamed Tim with a shout,
But by then their ideas were swirling about.

They scribbled and giggled; the words lost all sense,
“Let’s rhyme orange with door hinge!” said Fred, quite immense.
“Who needs rules?” cheered the crew, flailing their arms,
As they laughed at the thought of their poetic charms.

With fingers now sticky from munchies they found,
They wrote lines like “kittens” and “bouncing around.”
“Ah yes, fluffy clouds that whirl high in the sky,”
Then Dave saw a pizza, and let out a sigh.

While munching on chips, they were crafting fine art.
But the chips made them choke, so the love poem turned,
Into “Crunchy Delight” and for that, they all yearned.

Then up came a thought, as they passed ‘round the bong,
“Let’s rhyme every word with something that’s wrong!”
“We might not be good, but we’re high and inspired,
To rhyme with spaghetti!”—now this they hired.

But as night turned to dawn, the rhymes were laid bare,
They stumbled on phrases from “the weight of a bear.”
With one final laugh, and a glorious cheer,
They clutched their “masterpiece” and it all became clear.

A ballad born from munchies, absurdity reigned,
A poetic disaster, yet none were strained;
So if you’re with friends, and the green starts to flow,
Just laugh and write poetry—you'll love what you wrote!
