Ode to Professor Puff: The Scholar of Smoke

Oh, Professor Puff, with a twinkle in your eye,
Into the lecture hall, like a cloud, you fly.
Your notes are a swirl of dandelion dreams,
As students watch, wide-eyed, or so it seems.

With a grin and a wink, you stride to the front,
"Today we discuss... uh, what were we on? Right!"," But,
Your thoughts drift like paper on a breeze so divine,
While you ponder the purpose of pizza and time.

"Let’s explore the theories of Marx and his pals!"
You say with a giggle, “Or maybe, just jails!”
The students all chuckle; this is quite the treat,
While you pause for a moment to find your own feet.

“Remember, dear scholars, to question your mind,”
You advise with a spark of a thought that’s unlined.
“Like why do we measure our time in such ways?
And what’s the connection between cats and the rays?”

Your PowerPoint is lit with vibrant visuals,
But the slideshow’s a mess of full-moon rituals.
Yet they scribble down notes, as if taking gold,
From the wisdom of one who’s yet to be told.

As the bell tolls, you leave with a backwards salute,
“Keep questioning life, and don’t forget your fruit!”
With laughter resounding and thoughts left to fly,
We’ll remember the day you came to teach high.
