In a small little town, not a worry in sight,
Lived two pals named Sam and his buddy, Chuck Wright.
One fateful Saturday, with a grin ear to ear,
They lit up their stash, and chucked aside fear.
“Let’s just have a puff, then we’ll find something to do!”
Said Sam with a gleam, as he rolled one, it’s true.
But the minutes grew fuzzy, and time slipped away,
As they settled in deep for a long, smoky stay.
With giggles that echoed and munchies galore,
They devoured six pizzas and then asked for more.
“Is it noon or is it dusk? My watch must be broke!”
As Chuck pointed at shadows, “Dude, let’s take a smoke!”
Hours turned into eons, the sun had set low,
The streetlights came on, putting on quite a show.
“We’re only two hours late!” Sam yelled with delight,
When the moon chimed in gently and said, “Try a night.”
“A night!” cried good Chuck, “But we were just here!”
With a look of pure wonder, they quaked in their cheer.
“How could we have missed all the stars shining bright?”
“A time warp!” said Sam, “We’ve shattered the night!”
So they decided right then to embrace their demise,
And baked brownies and cookies under black velvet skies.
And while they lost time in a haze of delight,
They learned that the clock might just be more polite.
Next weekend they gathered, both wiser and bold,
With clocks on the table, their story retold.
“Let’s laugh at the moments we lost in the fog!”
And never again trust an old digital dog!
