In the zoo, where the wild things roam,
A zookeeper skipped in, his eyes all aglow,
With a grin on his face, he forgot his comb.
He fed the lions, but tossed them a gnome,
The monkeys just giggled, they loved the show,
In the zoo, where the wild things roam.
He mistook a kid for a baby hippo's home,
Demanded the parrot, "Let’s hear you crow,"
With a grin on his face, he forgot his comb.
He stared at the zebras, made sure they were chrome,
And tried to race ostriches, lost by a toe,
In the zoo, where the wild things roam.
He danced with the bears in a flouncy poème,
"Let’s party," he shouted, but no one said "whoa,"
With a grin on his face, he forgot his comb.
As the sun set behind, all signs said “Go home,”
But the zookeeper laughed, “It’s been quite the show!”
In the zoo, where the wild things roam,
With a grin on his face, he forgot his comb.
