The Stoned Gambit: A Cheech and Chess Tale

In a hall filled with smoke, where the giggles abound,
The chessboards were set, but none of them found,
Their focus or moves, all hazy and blurred,
As players got high on their favorite herb.

“Checkmate!” called Larry, but it was just his own king,
While Martha stood pondering, lost in a fling,
With the queen's mighty power, she thought it could fly,
“Wait—can it jump over? Or is that a lie?”

Bob yelled “I castle!” but he moved like a snail,
For each thought was tangled, like smoke in a veil.
He pondered the rook, then flipped off the knight,
Then forgot what he did, said, “Dude, this feels right.”

Across the bright board, young Jamie took a swig,
Of soda so sugary, he danced like a jig.
He thought that the bishop was part of the band,
“Rock on, sweet Rook, let's get this game planned!”

As clocks ticked away at a leisurely pace,
A puff-puff of laughter filled every soft space.
The audience watched, with a grin on their face,
For strategizing stoned was a glorious grace.

One chap tried to capture, confused by the ruse,
He took out his piece, but he didn’t excuse.
He laughed and he shouted, “Oh no! Not this way!”
While everyone cheered him for lighten’ the play.

At the end of the round, a tie was declared,
All pieces a jumble, the players prepared.
With nachos and cookies, the party began,
For high scores in chess just meant funny plans.

So here’s to the gamers, who rode on a cloud,
Where every bold move had its own cheering crowd.
In the world of the kings, queens, and piquant best greens,
The laughter and fun were the best of all scenes!
