High Kicks and Chronic Tricks

In a dojo bright, the fighters convene,
Their minds a-flutter, as they sip and puff,
With giggles and snacks, they take to the mat,
Roundhouse kicks soon turn to dizzy spins,
Buddha bless them, their focus is hazy,
But who can resist a snack break mid-fight?

First up is Steve, in his tie-dye gi,
He lunges forward, then stops for a breath,
"Wait, what was I doing?" he questions the sky,
As the crowd munches chips, laughing so hard,
A dim sum of grappling ensues in slow-mo,
The ref rolls his eyes, he’ll never get paid.

Next, there’s Kim, who’s flexing her moves,
Her kicks soaring upward, more like gentle waves,
"Can you pass the salsa?" she asks in a spin,
“Let’s taco ‘bout fighting—the nachos will win!”
With each joyful punch, her thoughts drift astray,
“Is the mat a taco or am I just baked?”

And oh! The judge, clenching his scorecards tight,
Misses the whole match, stuck in a daydream,
"Why does my chair feel like it’s floating?" he scoffs,
As both fighters collapse, giggling away,
He blows his whistle, but laughter erupts,
"This is karate, right? Or just chillin’ out?"

As banners unfurl, the crowd cheers with glee,
For every wild feint is met with a cheer,
"Let’s give it to all!" yells a far-out announcer,
"First place is nachos, and second is beer!"
All injuries healed with a puff and a grin,
As dreams of defeat fade with clouds in their eyes.

So here’s to the fighters, all hazy and bright,
In a tournament realm where laughs take their flight,
May their kicks ever linger, their spirits stay high,
In the dojo of dreams where none need to cry,
Just pass the good vibes, keep the smoke rolling in,
With each little jab, they’re all winning, my friends!
