Bartender's High-spirited Shift

He walked into work with a grin on his face,
The bottles sang songs as they danced on the shelf,
Mixing up drinks with a giddy embrace.

“A margarita, a gin, and a splash of some grace,”
He sloshed in the vodka, then poured it himself,
He walked into work with a grin on his face.

With clouds in his head and the pace of a race,
He swore that the whiskey was starting to elf,
Mixing up drinks with a giddy embrace.

His jests were a hit, though he lost track of space,
As customers laughed, he forgot what was shelf,
He walked into work with a grin on his face.

“One martini with gin, and a twist that’s all lace,”
He muddled and mixed, like a jack of all health,
Mixing up drinks with a giddy embrace.

By closing, his tie was a party—what grace!
“See you tomorrow!” he said, with great stealth,
He walked into work with a grin on his face,
Mixing up drinks with a giddy embrace.
