The Zookeeper's High Jinks

In a cage where laughter roams around,
A zookeeper stumbles, eyes a little glazed.
He greets a giraffe, that munches on grass,
While the lions chuckle, “Oh, what a scene!”
Penguins slide by, dressed up for a dance,
And the monkeys declare, “This guy’s quite amazed!”

With each wobbly step, he chats with the bears,
“Did you see how the zebras avoided my gaze?”
A parrot squawks loudly, “What’s this I see now?”
“Just a fellow who’s high, taking care of the team!”
The zookeeper laughs, thinking this isn’t a trap,
Then trips on his shoelace, fear ignites like a flame.

In a daze he remembers he’s gotta feed them,
The hippos all grunt, “Boring—what a dream!”
He offers them pizza, and a soda or two,
While the goats are like, “Dude, that’s not what we want!”
But the zookeeper shrugs, on his mind, skyward gaze,
“Can’t a friend share a slice in this wild theme park?”

As the afternoon sun brings a warm kind of bliss,
He juggles some fruit, and almost gets wise—
“Sorry, Mr. Elephant, that banana’s my prize,”
But the elephant just rolls his eyes with a huff,
“Get this dude a sandwich, he’s had plenty of fun,”
And the whole zoo erupts with a raucous, loud cheer.

Yet as the sun sets, in the zookeeper’s head,
Thoughts swirl like monkeys, who won’t let him be—
“Did I water the plants? And what’s up with my keys?”
As the zebras exchange glances, they snicker and sneer,
He fumbles his way to the gate with a grin,
And the guard just shakes his head, “You should stick to green!”

So if you visit the zoo, and spot a tall man,
Whose laughter resonates like a drum’s steady beat,
Remember he’s just living life with a twist,
A zookeeper high, making friends with each beast;
In a world that’s so strange, full of joy and cheer,
He proves that the wildest tales can happen right here!
