The Zookeeper’s High-Flying Day

At the crack of dawn, old Larry awoke,
With a groggy smile and a haze of smoke.
He stumbled out the door, a twinkle in his eye,
Unaware today’d be wild, oh my, oh my!

He greeted the monkeys with a relaxed little wave,
Thinking they’d want to play and misbehave.
But they swung and they hooted, in a curious dance,
While Larry just chuckled, lost in a trance.

He tossed a few peanuts with a flick of his wrist,
As the parrot squawked, “Hey dude, you missed!”
The flamingos were pinker, it seemed, than before,
As Larry admired their feathery decor.

He filled up their bowls with a grin and a laugh,
Confusing the zebras with snacks for the giraffe!
“Hey stripes, don’t you fret, you’ll get your fair share!”
While a lion in shadows threw him a glare.

In the reptile house, things got quite blurry,
“Is that a snake in my pocket, or am I just furry?”
The iguanas all chuckled, with winks and a grin,
“Just don’t feed us lettuce, it’s a scandalous sin!”

As noon approached, all was merry and bright,
Larry danced with the hippos—it was quite the sight!
He forgot about feeding, while onlookers stared,
At the zookeeper’s antics, nobody cared.

But when the sun set, and the day came to close,
Larry laughed at the chaos, his shirt covered in hose.
With memories hazy and a buzz in his head,
“Tomorrow, I swear, I’ll just stick to my bread!”

So if you should visit the zoo on a whim,
Watch for a zookeeper—he might just be him.
High on adventure, with laughter in tow,
The wildest of days, with a zookeeper show!
